I use GRUB and haven't had any problems at all with the 1024 cylinder limit,
it's much nicer to use compared to LILO. The first time I tried GRUB it could
find and boot my root partition inside an extended DOS partition in the high
end of my hard disk, I was pleasantly surprised. :)
