From: is what we see this end.
Try Sender: "name" <email-address>
Reply to: "name" <email-address>
When you set-up your identity in SO you have the option to fill in these
details into the preferences section.
Sending mail to the list in plain-text mode will lose the humorous X-Mailer
id that the conversion program injects into every post you have made.

That's why the posts make it through to mandrakesoft minus the domain name and
their mail handler fills in the blanks with their domain name.
