Regarding the cable modem setup, check yo make sure that either pumpd or
dhcpd are installed. In linuxconf, click netowrking, basic host information.

Configure eth0 as your external interface:
hostname: localhost.localdomain
Adapter1: enabled, DHCP
     netdevice:  eth0
     Kernel module: (your Network Card's driver)
Click accept

In Name Server Specification (DNS) type the default DNS ip addresses. I
don't know what these are for mediaone, but if you have a dual boot system
with Windows, when you get connected, you can open a DOS prompt, and type
ipconfig /all. this should list the DNS, or nameserver ip's.

This should be enough, unless something else has been configured
incorrectly.
