In Mandrake 7.0 there was a makefile for the bindings, passwd, services etc.
for ypbind in the /var/yp dir. Somehow this dissapeared in 7.1

And regarding NFS, when I try to mount now I get a permission denied message.

You mean the NFS server has to know the IP of the client?
