Greetings All, Here is my Quandry; I have an FTP server to configure for use by a range of clients for the company I work for. The foremost concern that has been expressed is that each customer not be able to go down to the parent directory and see the names of the other users. I have played with permissions and owners Etc Etc. Looked through the docs and not fouind anything to this effect, yet I know it is possible because I had it done to me long ago. Here is what I have going on so far... /home/ftp/clients/Client1 /home/ftp/clients/Client2 /home/ftp/clients/Client3 when I changed the permissions to something more restrictive (ie: chmod 700 clients) I was not able to access the Client(x) dir, and it gave me the root (/) instead. My current workaround is to number the client dir's (2121245 Etc.) and not allow one user to look at anothers dir. Hoever the problem still exists where a normal user can follow the parent directories back to root (/) It's running RedHat 5.1. Any Ideas or Help any body? Thanks Dan.
