First off check to see if it uses a static IP or DHCP. If it uses a static IP then you probably don't have to do anything more than setting up your ethernet card with the proper masks and such. If it uses DHCP you might need to use an assigned hostname to make it work. Try asking on your local linux group if they have a mailing list.
