After some package swapping/changing, I was able to get qt2 and kde to install cleanly and run. It is almost all ok. I do get a lot of crashes of various apps like the control-center, KGNUPlot (which is in the networking directory?!), and a few others. KGNUPlot crashes immediately upon starting. In any case, it all seems relatively nice but... where is kmail? Where are all my gnome/X-apps? Is there no appfinder in kde 2.0 so I can automagically add the apps on my system to my kmenu? MUST I do it all manually? I did install ALL the kde rpms that I could find. I have a lot of non-kde apps onboard and I really would rather not have to add all of them manually. There is not a single gtk+/gnome app anywhere in my kmenus. I also have netscape, blender, ac3d, daVinci, pybliographic, etc, etc. Are there no kde 2.0 themes or a theme manager as yet? Finally, I haven't (at least yet) found any configuration setting where I can control the layout/placement of my window buttons. I like my X (for killing a window) to be in the far right, not the default far left, for instance. I can find no way to rearrange the buttons. praedor
