OK, I need for someone who has actually succeeded in getting ANY of
the Mandrake 7.2 kde src rpms built to tell me what version of
gcc they have, what version of glibc, what version of libstdc++.
I am amazed that the binary rpms exist at all since I have yet to
get a single kde src rpm to build. The kdelibs src rpm won't build,
it tries but dies (I don't recall the messages and am tired of
dicking with it). I just tried building kdebase-2.0-7mdk.src.rpm
and IT failed with:
g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I../../../.. -I/usr/include
-I/usr/lib/qt2/include -I/usr/X11R6/include -DQT_NO_CAST_ASCII

I did manage to get qt2 and qt-1.44 to build just fine but kde rpms are
absolutely impossible.
I have:
gcc-2.95.2-7mdk (all the rpms)
glibc-devel-2.1.3-16mdk
glibc-profile-2.1.3-16mdk
glibc-2.1.3-16mdk
libstdc++-compat-2.95.2-12mdk
libstdc++-devel-2.95.2-12mdk
libstdc++-2.95.2-12mdk
qt2-2.2.1-3mdk
qt-1.44-28mdk
qt-qimgio-1.44-28mdk
qt-qgl-1.44-28mdk
qt2-devel-2.2.1-3mdk
qt2-doc-2.2.1-3mdk
qt-devel-1.44-28mdk
Most rpms build fine but not kde. The kde binaries also do not
function properly (at least kdebase-2.0-7mdk is dicked up (I cannot
create a floppy or cdrom device as a user without locking up whatever
app I attempt to do it in: if I try to create it on the desktop, my
desktop freezes. If I try to create it in my desktop directory in
konqueror, konqueror freezes. As root, no problem).
