Hi, I've been running a SMP kernel on this machine with both MDK 7.1 (before
last friday), and 7.2 since then My machine's specs are;
tyan tiger 133
dual 667 slot one pIII processors
256 megs pc-133 sdram
( I was using 512 megs for awhile, but decided that this was overkill, so
the excess 256 megs got moved to another machine)
g400 video card
3com/usr sportster isa hardware modem
3com net card
live sound card
IBM 75gxp ata/100 30 gig drive (only running this at ata/66)
IBM 10 gig ata/33 hard drive.
Sony atapi 10x4x32x cdrw cdrom drive
2 extra cooling fans (they make too much noise, but I prefer that the guts
stay cool.)
No real problems with this setup. It's stable and pretty fast.
I have noticed that Kword seems to be somewhat flakey, but being that this is
the only instability with this system, it's not much of an issue. In any
case, staroffice is fast and stable on this setup so I can afford to wait for
the koffice people to improve what they've got.
