That is what didn't work. THAT is what really surprised me. The same thing worked just fine in KDE 1.2.x. In this case, the program was WordPerfect and /usr/local/wp8/wpbin/xwp didn't work. (Yes, I was certain that the path existed and that sufficient rights were granted). However, after modifying .bash_profile to include: /usr/local/wp8/wpbin/ in the $PATH statement then an icon executing only "xwp" worked just fine. Strange problem. Ron ./.
