Yes that is what I meant by streams, but reiserfs cannot yet support streams (ok - the truth is that linux is not really able to handle streams on a kernel level yet) . reiser is working on an alternative way to provide streams functionality in a different method. the problem is that reiser can't deal with the hidden directory attached to a file, or the subdirectory beyond that - for reasons that are beyond my comprehension at this point :) Also, the LiS that you mentioned, is a hack to interface between streams and standard bsd sockets. it is still not a kernel level streams, and cannot handle tcp/ip, just bottom layer ip, among other problems. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
