has a howto specifically made for mdk.

also, mdk 7.2 should have set this up for you automatigically with it's kudzu 
(new h/w config on startup)

if ya screwed it up, you could disable teh ide port in bios and restart, 
allow it to remove the config, then restart and enable the ide port and have 
it re-write the configuration in /etc/fstab for you.......errr...it 
should....dunno now if it did...mmm
