Hi,

   I've installed a new (but old ) kernel (from linux2.2.14 + different
patch ) on
a previous installation of mandrake 7.1. (2.2.15) with I810 motherboard
:-(
After modifiing /etc/grub/menu.lst all is fine BUT the module
agpgart.o, apparently responsible for initializing /dev/agpgart, isnot
loaded . Hence X cannot start.....
The same appear with the module rtl8139 ()but for this one the obsolete
conf.modules was responsible.
For the agpgart modules I can insmod it with /sbin/insmod -f
/lib/modules/2.2.15-mdk4/misc/agpgart.o (i use -f since it is has not
been build for the 2.2.14 kernel )and then I can start X.

Does anyone know which init file (rc.d/????) is responsible for
autoloading this module (agpgart) ? I would prefer that module insmoding

be done at strartup !
In the same spirit, how do i configure script (and which script ?) to
insmod different
modules depending on 'uname -r' at startup ?
   thank a lot

stephane
