I do not know what there is written about TrueType, but probably you will find the correct info there. > The gimp print driver worked great, is the quality of the foomatic driver the > same as the cups driver? > Yes, but the operation is different: The CUPS driver uses the CUPS-internal RIP (Raster Image Processor), and the Foomatic solution uses GhostScript. So font extensions of Mandrake you only see with the Foomatic stuff. The big advantage of the CUPS driver is the easy colour calibration with "calibrate-gimpprint", so it's better for photos and graphics. The GhostScript driver has a lot of adjustments (look into the options which xpp or qtcups displays for a printer/queue configured with "Foomatic"). It is much more difficult to to do a full calibration, but you can send some slight adjustments along with an individual job. In addition you have the additional fonts and so this solution is better for formatted text documents. > On a better note, i'm about to upload K-Epson Tools onto cooker, if anyone > wants the binary rpm, you can get it .. > http://www.tecpronet.com/linux/kepsontools-0.1.2-1mdk.i586.rpm > > source at > http://www.tecpronet.com/linux/kepsontools-0.1.2-1mdk.src.rpm > I will try it later. Thank you for the packages. Till
