do the "no" symbols have any effect? From the looks of the error message,
the compilation of the new keymap failed, and the default keymap is used
(or am I confusing error messages?).
looking at line 15 of /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xkb/symbols/no :
[ onehalf, threequarters };
but it should be:
[ onehalf, threequarters ]};
Try correcting this, and see if that helps.
