We are now (at the time this mail was sent), 17 (norwegians/)people having
the same problem with mdk7.2.
We have unsuccesfully tried the following to get help on this:
1. Visited the following irc-channels
Undernet:
#Linux.no
#Linux
EFnet:
#Linux.no
#Linux
DalNet:
#Linux
OpenProjects:
#Linux
#LinuxPeople
#LinuxHelp
2. Searched the following sites:
www.linux-mandrake.com
www.linux.com
www.google.com
slashdot.net
www.xfree.org
(and numerous others)
3. Tried the following mail-lists:
kde
kde-user
mdk-expert
mdk-newbie
linux-help
linuxtrouble
4. Called different help-desks in Norway
As far as we can see, our problem must be considered a bug. We really hope
that we at least get a reply on this mail and a note telling us that the
bug is being worked on, or hopefully a solution to the problem. We all
love mdk, but are having problems giving faith to that love because of the
"silence" we are threated with.
The problem is as follows (cut from previous mail):
<cut>
Have had some problems the last month with my keyboard layout, experienced
the same in both mdk 7.2beta3 and mdk 7.2final.
My right alt (altgr) reacts the same way as the left alt, no matter what I
do...
This is my keyboard section in XF86Config:
Section "InputDevice"
  Identifier "Keyboard1"
  Driver   "Keyboard"
  Option   "AutoRepeat"  "250 30"
  Option   "XkbRules"   "xfree86"
  Option   "XkbModel"   "pc105"
  Option   "XkbLayout"   "no"
EndSection
I also get this error in terminal when using startx:
<snap>
parse error: line 15 of no The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
>Error: Error interpreting include file "no" >
Exiting > Abandoning symbols file "default" Errors from
xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server Error loading new keyboard
description
</snap>
I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it..
I'd really appreciate it if someone could answer this as soons as possible
(off course only if you have a solution or a way to diagnose this), as
computing isn't exactly easy when you can't just altgr+number-keys..
</cut>
ps. this isn't in any way meant to be an attack at mdk, as I said we LOVE
mdk :)... But we feel that we at least could get a response from someone at
mdk after having posted this several times on (what's said on mdk's pages)
officiall mailing-lists...
