A follow up...

I guess I can export the rules of my firewall to
/etc/sysconfig/ipchains and then have S08ipchains restore them.
What I'm going to do is to deny everything in that set of rules and
then make up my own S12ipchains that defines rules taking my leased
IP and the DNS into account.How does that sound? Genius, or
blatantly stupid? In this latter script I will work with IPCHAINS
commands and not restore previously cooked rules.
When the network comes up. The firewall will be closed. Once the
network is up all the rules are applied.
