My question is more oriented how lilo and grub work together (or don't).

Last time I tried lilo was in 7.1, where the lilo.conf file
was edited and updated (I thought) by a lilo run. But what happened was
not as expected, lilo did not upgrade according to the conf file. On
the other hand, at the next boot grub came up again and the changes
made in lilo.conf were reflected in the grub boot menu.

Same happened after the upgrade. I edited the lilo.conf and the
changes were reflected in grub boot menu (after running the Drake
tool, don't remember the name).

So, where do you change between lilo and grub, and which files are
config files for the two tools in MDK7.2? (I've been using lilo for a long time
now, but I am a newbie in grub.)
