Hi.
I'm having problems swithcing to a console while in X.
when I use the key combos of CTRL-ALT-F*,I get the text login prompt and
then immediately am switched back to whatever display X was running on
with error messages that X has crashed i.e.:
> Fatal server error:
> Caught signal 11. Server aborting.

> When reporting a problem relating to a server crash, please send the full
> server output, not just the last messages.
> This can be found in the log file "/var/log/XFree86.0.log".

> xinit:connection to X server lost.
> [rose@Roset3 rose]$ xterm: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) or KillClient

> Terminated sighup
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite Pro 460CDX (P166MMX)
80 MB Ram
6GB HD.
Mandrake 7.2
XFree 4.01
SVGA X server
Please note that these problems do not exist on my desktop and were
never encountered with Mandrake 7.1 and XFree 3.3.6 on the same laptop.
Any ideas as to what I could tweak or how to get rid of XFree 4.01 and
use 3.3.6?
