I've installed a few other versions of linux on my machine but i decided to reinstall. I've installed Mandrake 7.0 before and i currently have redhat 6.2 on the linux partitions of my dual boot with win98 system. The kernel which is currently on my system still boots, but when i boot from the cd or from the boot disk i made with rawrite i get one of 2 problems. Eith the kernel gives an error when detecting ide1 and shuts down, or the system freezes when trying to do something with ide1 and irq15. I've been using linux for a while but this is above my head. anyone know anything about this. I will try to write down the exact errors if someone has heard of this before Jeff Lang
