I tried this and it doesn't work. I have tried changing owner, changing
everything to rwx perms across the board, and just about anything else I
could think of and nothing is working.
I am simply unable to access the trashcan, startup, home, and devices on my
desktop EXCEPT for printer. Anything I create on my desktop as user doesn't
work. I am now going to try once again from scratch by deleting .kderc,
.kde/, and my Desktop/ directory and then start KDE 2.1 yet again to see if
it will create de novo all the icons on the desktop and see if THEY work.
