At first I didn't tell DiskDrake about the /boot partition, in the hopes that
GRUB or LILO would boot happily from about 8.5 gigs into the drive (not really
likely, but hey! I'm being optimistic here). I also wasn't ready to over write my
pretty well running SuSE installation, which currently uses that 15 meg partition
as it's /boot.
However, I decided to try specifying it, which didn't help any. To answer your
question about where I told the boot loader to go, I was never asked that
question, I believe it would have been there if not for the hash error I received.

Good thought... although won't I still need to use Diskdrake to specify mount
points (I'm not repartitioning the drive)?

It's really just an extremely well used 16 gig drive (although I have my eye on
a 40 or 80 gig drive to replace it with so that I can simultaneously have RedHat,
SuSE, Mandrake, Caldera, Corel, Windows, BeOS, and QNX installed).

That might be a good suggestion, I'm running a version from a year and a half
ago, I think Dell has released newer versions since then.
