As you know, we like to honor traditions as soon as we think of them, so,
with that in mind, and for those of you who missed the oblique reference in
another post...

It is time to step forward and strike your blow for a better distro by
becoming a tester.

You will receive the betas same time everyone else does, except those of you
who cannot download will receive ISOs by postal service in plain, brown
wrappers.

You will give a few hours a day to the effort and your results and opinions
will be web-published in the agregate. In other words, your test results
will be made a guide for others using the software. You won't just be
looking for bugs but also testing the limits of functionality of the software.

And you will have written test protocols to follow, and of course you may
suggest improvements to those protocols.

Work begins early February. If you are interested, please email me, not the
list. This will be limited to no more than 50 persons this first time. (The
tools to support the testers are still in heavy development).
