As for the reply to it might be your app cause Pine and Kmail are working 
fine for me.

As for the stability of 7.1 are you using an ISO that you downloaded, or a CD 
from someplace like Cheapbytes? Depending on the media and hardware used I've 
gotten differing results from dl'ed ISO's. I've always had great results from 
Cheapbytes Cd's.
