No problem at all. I followed the readme instructions to and only added a
make clean to the instructions. Read the instructions again. Did you unpack
the tarball to a directory where you had permissions and do a make mrproper
from that directory first? Then you switch to /usr/source/linux and do a
make config (I like make xconfig better).
