ipchains blocks too much. Some pages try to load other information from
the add site, and when they cannot, they fail (javascript used it to
validate the page before continuing in at least one case!). A
redirector like squirm can be set to block only gif's from a site. Its
based on regex's applied to the URL, so it can be as coarse or fine as
needed. Went the ipchains route 12 months ago, but too many of the
pages I wanted broke - I think doubleclick etc are aware of the
practice, and this was their responce.
