I have a small home network set up. (3 machines)
Here is a basic rundown of it:
a) DSL Service provided by Earthlink
b) DSL Modem
c) Linux machine running as a firewall/router
d) Laptop running via a hub (Linux/Win 98)
e) Desktop running via a hub (Win 98/Linux)
There is one network card feeding the DSL modem
There is one network card feeding the hub
For some reason my laptop and desktop are unable
to ping address, tracert gets as far as the homestore hop
nslookup does show IP address
I am however unable to bring up the site.
It appears that your site and maybe 6 others that I remember are the only ones.
MSN.com comes right and ask if I wish to accept the cookie
so I am definite I can make it out and back. About 99% of the sites I try are
successful.
I can only think that it is something in this site that doesn't like going through my
firewall.
The firewall machine is a Liinux desktop, and I use it for a workstation, and it can
get to
the site fine. I have tried as far as removing my firewall, rebooting, and still same
results
Any ideas why I can not hit your site via my home network in either windows or Linux??
Are you looking for a valid IP address to resolve to?
My home network is setup as :
Linux Desktop/firewall/router IP 192.168.1.100
the above machine blocks nothing from internal network
Laptop running Linux/Win 2k IP 192.168.1.120
Desktop running Win 98/Linux IP 192.168.1.110
http://www.realtor.com is one of the sites I am unable to hit from any other machine
than
my main desktop/firewall/router machine
http://computers.toshiba.com is another one.... going to www.toshiba.com, then
computers will get you to computers.toshiba.com but I am unable at all.
Any help appreciated,
