On my school network, there are many PCs and some Macs. In particular, there
are some local lab Macs that I need to access. There is no problem
connecting from the Mac to my linux box via ftp, telnet, etc, but to connect
the other direction is thus far impossible.

These are networked Macintoshes with file sharing enabled yet they are
invisable to me. They are in the same domain as I am but when I run a
network traffic analyzer like etherape, for instance, no matter what the Mac
is doing, it is invisable. Telnetting to other computers on the network
(unless to mine directly), web browsing, whatever, it doesn't show up in a
sniffer/analyzer (etherape). The ONLY way I can see the thing is to ping it,
then it will show up on etherape for as long as I ping it.

I NEED to be able to connect to it and mount its harddrive, which should be
possible (and can be done in windoze). It is invisable when I check for
samba shares too.

How do I connect to and mount a Macintosh harddrive that is networked AND has
filesharing enabled (and tcpip enabled)?
