What's the best way to fix a busted boot partition? I had Linux installed
on my server. Installed Windows 2000 over the top of it. Worked great,
installed NAT software, Firewall, Antivirus, Wireless Network stuff..
everything was working great. Been rebooting all day.. had it off and
about to take it to client's site.
Decided I'd go ahead and partition/format the extra ten gigs I had and label
it STORAGE. Booted, went into disk management, clicked on the extra space,
format NTFS. Immediately, my computer blanked out, rebooted itself. And
all I get now is a DOSsy screen that says, "PRESS A KEY TO REBOOT"
I would think that somehow the Linux bootsector was messing things up,
however, I've been rebooting all day long after installing 2000 so I know
the bootsector is compatible with NT. The hard drive is a Brand New IBM
7200... best IDE around.
Any help would be so nice, as I might be able to keep this an under 15hour
day.
