Strange.  I just tested this with my laptop, which runs netscape 4.73, and
it appears to actually quote as desired!  (Yes, I tried a 'reply')

I've set , under properties/Mail&newsgroups/Messages, the 'automatically
quote ...' selected, but it attribution works right even if I say
'reply' and then click on 'quote'!
