There's a good chance that Windows won't share except with Windows (you know, like you
couldn't
connect to msn.com w/ Netscape, that kind of thing).

As for your setup, it's a little unclear to me - it seems like maybe you have only one
NIC in your
Windows box, that means that you are connecting the internet, your linux box and your
Windows box
through a hub? But then why would your Windows box have an ip of 192.168.x.x, so you
must have 2
NICs in the Windows box.

The other day a friend and i had to set up ICS on win98SE for another Windows box and
even that
was a hassle. We tried like 3 or 4 different things and finally we uninstalled ICS and
reinstalled
it and tried the first thing and it worked. We didn't even check to find out what was
happening,
we just walked away.......

Windows *should* just MASQ it like Linux does, but who knows. But in that case you'll
need to
specify the IPS's DNS servers........man, just thinking about it makes me shudder.
Don't forget to
do a lot of rebooting (with your Windows machine), that REALLY seems to help. And also
reinstall
ICS a few times for your different circumstances. Too bad the documentation in Win98
is such crap.

Sorry i don't have a better (non-bitter) attitude towards the whole thing. I'm one of
those guys
who dumped Windows with a vengance. I know i'd be a happier person if i could find my
way to
forgive the Bill Gates and maybe someday i will. Actually i used Win2KPro for quite
some time
before i left and that's a lot better than 98 - if you must use Windows and you don't
care so much
about games then load up 2k. Good luck....

John

PS. At one point we had the box serving the internet but it couldn't browse the net
itself....98
really sucks.
