A bit more info.
If I run inetd with telnet (port23) redirected to another app
and ltelnet (localtelnet) directed to another port
ie.

/etc/sevices

telnet 32/tcp
ltelnet 7500/tcp

/etc/inetd.conf

telnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/node node
ltelnet stream tcp nowait root /usr/sbin/in.telnetd in.telnetd

in /etc/xinetd.d/
the telnet & ltelnet files are altered as well, and this is working on
another machine

If Telnet to localhost 7500 when inetd is running , straight to the normal
front end,,,,BUT so does a tenet localhost !!!!!!
with xinetd turned off the front end is only from port 7500

Where does xinetd get its port data from ?

TIA
