If you are logged in as root then edit .bashrc in the root directory, else
edit the .bashrc file in the /home/<name> directory and comment out the line
for 'alias rm=rm -i' (I think that's the line)  at the same time you may
care to examine the other aliases in the file.  The effects will become
apparent next time you boot/open.

At the same time you may care to install some other aliases.  Eg  I
generally have 'alias dir='ls -al'  (blush - well?  why not?) also a command
to start and stop Samba...
