Hi Marc,

In my experience, there are just some things you have to update manually. Like 
MandrakeUpdate! I
had problems with that too, until i updated it manually. Also, in case you're not 
using it totally
properly, go into the preferences menu (a sub-menu of one of the main drop-downs) and 
select
"refresh mirror list" or something like that. then click ok to close that dialogue box 
and try
"update list" again. But getting back to KDE 2.1, it's probably one of those things 
that you have
to uninstall and reinstall, as opposed to update.

Everyone needs a test box. I have a few. I don't try something that i think i might 
not be able to
come back from until i've tested it out on my test box.

PS. As i understand it, apt-get is for Debian and is not appropriate for 
Mandrake/Redhat(?).
