Jeff

Without knowing when the installs hangs or what/if error message you get it
hard to give you options to try.
Here are a couple.
At the installation splash screen press F1 and at the boot prompt enter
linux ide0=noautotune ide1=noautotune.

You can also boot to the cd install from DOS
Since DOS will load a generic CD-ROM driver hopefully it will allow 7.2 to
see and access your drive and it will not hang.
With 7.2 in your drive boot your system with a win98 Start-up disk. Choose
the With CD-ROM
Support option.
I will be using N for my cd-rom. You will need to replace that with the
assignment which DOS gives to yours. The entries in ""s are those the system
issues, those without are the ones you are to enter.

"A:\>"N:\
"N:\>"cd\dosutils\autoboot
"N:\dosutils\autoboot>"autoboot.bat004
"C:\Mandrake>"cdrom
The Mandrake installation program will begin.
