Dear Sujeet and friends:

Well, I downloaded the jdk-sun java file, hoping to make it work with
Konqueror in KDE 2.01. The file is:

jdk-sun-1.2.2-3mdk.i586.rpm

To install jdk-sun, I had to first install the file unixODBC:

unixODBC-1.8.12-1mdk.i586.rpm

Alas, after selecting "user-defined" in Konqueror's Settings, Browser,
Java, and entering the path as: /usr/jdk-sun1.2.2/bin/java I tried once
again to use Java in Konqueror in KDE 2.01 on the following two sites:

1) Hello World:

http://users.erols.com/roelle/JHUjava/java-1st.html

2) Russian Painting -- java applets in left frame, e.g. ICONS, etc.

http://www.rollins.edu/Foreign_Lang/Russian/ruspaint.html

This is the correct path as you can see below:

[sher@mindspring sher]$ cd /usr/jdk-sun1.2.2/bin
[sher@mindspring bin]$ ls
appletviewer@ java@ javah@ oldjava@ rmiregistry@
extcheck@ java-rmi.cgi* javap@ oldjdb@ serialver@
i386/ javac@ jdb@ policytool@ tnameserv@
jar@ javadoc@ keytool@ rmic@
jarsigner@ javadt@ native2ascii@ rmid@
[sher@mindspring bin]$

Well, I have run out of ideas. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate
it. I very much appreciate your help as it is. You have all been very
kind. This may simply be a problem beyond our control.

Thank you.

Benjamin
