I switched to ATA66 using the "boot install cd, choose update, let it write boot record, exit" method, and everything seems to work correctly except for my USB webcam. I get an "open /dev/video0: no such device" error. When I do a modprobe for videodev & ov511, which is all I used to need to do, I get no errors.
