Ah, So sorry to reply to my own post, but I kinda fixed it. It turns
out it wasn't a problem w/ switching to ata66, but with trying to load
the modules in /etc/modules . I took them out & rebooted. Then loaded
them manually as I have been doing & it worked fine.
