[expert] mounting local filesystems during boot

Is there a way to speed this process up? On my system, Mdk7.2(ext2fs),
800Mhz Duron with 128Mb of RAM and two HDs(one 20 and the other 30Gb)
the mounting takes about 45 seconds.
