No....postfix is over an order of magnitude faster than sendmail
No....Postfix is far more secure and a hell of a lot easier to configure 
than sendmail

As an anecdotal note, at the ISP I used to work for we replaced 5 Sparc 
Ultra 2 mail servers running sendmail with one very lightly configed 
E4500(was a firesale box, and we could not afford to add any hardware to 
it, so it was stuck at 2GB of ram and 2 processors) running postfix

Our sendmail guru fought tooth and nail to avoid changing over, until he 
started working with postfix and realized just HOW much faster and easier 
to configure  it really was.
