No - you got it wrong ..... this is not a separate setup step ....what I wanted to say was that there are two checkboxes under setup icon on xfce main panel that activate the access to the common menuing system - these checkboxes are usually on by default but it depends on the version of xfce ... for example the latest CVS branch for xfce has them off ... p.f.
