[expert] running everybuddy on a remote terminal

I'm trying to run some remote X apps via the X-forwarding in SSH and 
konsole runs great, but when I try to start everybuddy it starts to 
draw the screen and then errors out with the following messages

Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  serial 1143 error_code 8 request_code 72 minor_code 0
Gdk-ERROR **: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
  serial 1181 error_code 8 request_code 72 minor_code 0
