Ok, im back to mandrake after a 4 day play with slackware...lesson...boredom isnt
always a bad thing...it beats stay up till1am trying to get a printer configured.

Anyway, got manfreq, its running fine. Cdrom drive will alllow user to access drive
after a fresh boot, but once a disk ejcet and anew put in, user doesnt have access to
mount/umount. I have attempted to add the users options to mtab as it apprears to have
the options for fstab, but upon reboot found it gone as below. So whats the deal?

here is my current fstab...kinda different format than other distros

/dev/hda2 / ext2 defaults 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
/mnt/cdrom /mnt/cdrom supermount dev=/dev/cdrom,fs=iso9660 0 0
/mnt/cdrom2 /mnt/cdrom2 supermount dev=/dev/cdrom2,fs=iso9660 0 0
/mnt/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=vfat 0 0
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows vfat user,exec,umask=0,codepage=850,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0
/dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0

heres mtab

/dev/hda2 / ext2 rw 0 0
none /proc proc rw 0 0
none /dev/pts devpts rw,mode=0620 0 0
/mnt/cdrom /mnt/cdrom supermount rw,dev=/dev/cdrom,fs=iso9660 0 0
/mnt/cdrom2 /mnt/cdrom2 supermount rw,dev=/dev/cdrom2,fs=iso9660 0 0
/dev/floppy /mnt/floppy supermount rw,dev=/dev/fd0,fs=vfat 0 0
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows vfat rw,nosuid,nodev,umask=0,codepage=850,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
/proc/bus/usb /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs rw,devmode=0664,devgid=43 0 0
