Hi,
I am newbie to Linux Mandrake... but I have a small problem which nobody
till now could solve.
I have installed LM8.0 on my laptop. The very first instalation was great.
Every pice of hardware was recognized by Mandrake... but 3 weeks later I
lost my PCMCIA card which I use to connect to internet v�a cable modem. The
3Com Megahertz CardBus was gone...
...because of lack of money in that moment I had to buy a new very chip
PCMCIA which even don't have a name o it... First I have pluged it and use
Win2K... there was no any problem it was detected as Realtec rtl8139(A)...
...then I used it in Mandrake...and nothing... well I decided to install LM
once again with a new card insid the slot. I have made it... but nothing...
I can't manage to make it work.
First using DrakeNet when I try to configure connection I receive message:
insmod'ing module 8139too failed at /usr/lib/libDrakeX/modules.pm line
510
But I don't understand anything in this archive... so... I was trying to
find out what is going on other way. I used dmesg|more and I can see this:

I try cardctl and PCMCIA works ok... it respondes for commands:

PCI id: 0x10ec 0x8139
eth0 device doesn't exist. I don't know how to "obliged" system to make it.
I can imagine the problem is in IRQ. I was trying to make some changes in
bios, but nothing... even soundcard stops to work...
So what shall I do???? Anybody could help me. I really want to get this
PCMCIA working, but I don't know what do I need to do... Please help me. Any
idea is welcomed.
