Stef,
        This is not an uncommon problem I have had it many times. The first
thing to try is check in you /tmp directory and look for a file named
unix/:-1 or very similar. If you find one then delete it and reboot
there is a very good chance that all will return to normal.
If it doesn't or if you can't find the file you can do what I have ave
done and that is edit the /etc/XF86Config file, take a look at the
example in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11 if you add the font paths shown in the
example to you X config file and comment out the line relating to the
unix-1 reference things should then work. Make sure though that the
fonts actually do reside in the stated paths otherwise it will be no-go.
If the fonts are somewhere else modify the path statements to suit. If
you do it this way it most probable that Drakfont will not function
correctly.
