I did not see what version of Linux Mandrake that you are running 7.2 or 8 or what? So, I will throw this in for you to look over and see if that helps you. There is an internet connection sharing wizard within the control center that you may want to look at. This wizard sets up IPTABLES and anything else necessary to make Internet Connection Sharing between a WIN box and a Linux box a snap! My buddy got his Linux box to be the server and have his WIN client share the connection off of the Linux box just by using the Internet Connection Sharing wizard within the Control Center. Try it out. Of course he and I are running 8.0 and that may be different than what you are running. Now, lets just say in advanced, if there is a how-to for this.. just send me the link :) Anywase.. this is what I have: Linux Mdk 2.4.3 on my desktop computer connected to the internet with a modem (soon to be high speed.. but lets work with the dialup for now). The laptop is running Win2000Pro which is setup for the network at school. What I want to do, is use my desktop computer as a "server" for probably 2-3 machines (one of which being my laptop) since my computer will be hosting the internet for a couple of computers in my house. I basically just want to setup internet connection sharing with Linux as the server. My problem comes in using Win2000Pro with Linux since I'm fairly new to networks of this type, and I have to have the laptop able to work with the network at school (which already works good). Any ideas on what I should do? I basically have it setup hardware wise like this: Client (Laptop)-----Hub----Linux Box----Internet through dialup. Client (Comp2)----/ Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not a complete idiot.. just when it comes to this :) Thanks again.
