In /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit there's an "if" statment that looks something like this: if [ -x /sbin/setsysfont ]; then It's a rather long thing.. What I did was comment out the entire "if / fi" block and put this after it DELAYED_FONT=yes This flags another routine down at the bottom of the script to set the system font, and it does not change your extended font back to a normal font. Your milage may vary, and I would be curious if any one knows the "correct" way to fix this. -Al Andersen On Wednesday 12 September 2001 12:34, you wrote: > > Hi, > I am running Mandrake 8.0 in console mode and would like to be able to set > "VGA text mode" to get higher resolution. > According to 'man lilo.conf' this can be fixed by setting vga=extended > (for instance) in /etc/lilo.conf. > When this is done I observe a different (other than 80x25) VGA mode in the > beginning of the boot process but in some step during the boot process the > mode is set back to 80x25 and my setting in lilo.conf is overridden. > > What overrides the setting in lilo.conf and how can I set the VGA text > mode to something other than 80x25? > > Thanks in advance. > /Dan ---------------------------------------- Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"; name="message.footer" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Content-Description: ----------------------------------------
