My /etc/fstab files has this line:
/dev/hda1 /mnt/windows vfat user,exec,umask=0 0 0

I do not get the errors in Star Office that the other individual was 
experiencing.

Both owner and group are root for my Windows partition, but as a user I 
have no problems writing/saving/whatever to it.
