I had this problem... you can NOT install from a mounted partition.

In my case I have the files in /home/admin/cooker/i586

So... at installation I can mount everything, except for /home, if I do I get 
the very same error.

After the installation is complete I just add /home manually or using 
linuxconf, file system and that's it!
