Thanks for the info. I think you have hit it right on. After ruling out
most everything else, it seems the install is choking with the ATA 100.
You have the same MOBO, and must have the same bios. I can only find an
entry to enable or disable UDMA. With UDMA disabled, I get mode PIO 4,
and that will not work. Would you be so kind as to tell me how you were
able to go to mode UDMA 3. I have been in my bios many times, and I just
can not see how you did it.
